[MARLBOROUGH, Massachusetts, USA — February 15, 2017 —] CloudWave announced the release of OpSus Backup, the latest addition to the service portfolio available from their OpSus Healthcare Cloud. OpSus Backup provides fully-managed backup services for the healthcare enterprise, designed to perform backup operations and eliminate backup failures to protect mission-critical enterprise applications. Hosted in Tier 4 datacenters with encryption for data both in transit and at rest, OpSus Backup is data protection as a service for healthcare applications, including full backup operations and encrypted off-site retention. Providing a secure landing zone for data restoration, the service also enables customers to perform on-demand data restores.
Healthcare organizations are required by law to backup and have the ability to restore protected health information, in addition to needing valid backups of enterprise applications for business continuance. Performing secure, consistent, reliable backups can pose operational challenges. CloudWave’s team of healthcare IT experts perform, monitor and maintain backup operations, ensuring valid, restorable backups. OpSus Backup is built on a geographically dispersed storage platform, and is designed to meet the requirements of healthcare for high availability and security while driving down costs.
Jacob Wheeler, Cloud Product Manager at CloudWave says: “We created OpSus Backup in recognition of the burden that maintaining backups places on hospital IT staff. Retaining expertise to ensure proper operations, encryption, retention, and other compliance criteria can be difficult. OpSus Backup changes all that.”
“A successful backup is one you can recover from; there are no other criteria, ” says Matthew Donahue, Chief Technology Officer at CloudWave. “Although we have a team of health IT experts available to support our customers 24 x 7, the availability of our self-service OpSus Backup Portal allows customers to validate and verify backups by restoring to the local appliance, any backup, any time. That’s peace of mind.”
